UPDATE on Murphy Afolabi burials, Odunlade, Chatta, Sanyeri others react to death

UNTIMELY death of veteran Nollywood Actor, Murphy Afolabi has thrown the Yoruba Nollywood actors into a state or wailing and mourning.

 

 

The news had it that Murphy fell from the bathroom and died.

 

 

According to a reliable source from the family of the late actor who would not want his name mentioned, he said there was issues surrounding the burial place of the diseased.

 

 

He told SOJ WORLDWIDE Correspondent that the children and wives wanted him buried at his residence in Lagos but his family wanted his remain buried in Osogbo, his home town.

 

 

Our source further told SOJ WORLDWIDE that the family left Osogbo this morning for Lagos to reach a compromise with the wives and children and they finally agreed that Murphy Afolabi will be laid to rest at his residence in IKORODU, Lagos State at about 4pm today, Monday, May 15, 2023.

Murphy who was a traditionalist recently converted to Islam, he was said to have taken part in the just concluded Ramadan fasting. He celebrated his 49th birthday on May 5, 2023 but passed on nine days later.

Announcing the sad news on Sunday afternoon in a Facebook post accompanied by pictures, popular Nollywood actor and director, Tunde Ola Yusuf wrote: “REST IN PEACE. May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.”

 

 

Famous Yoruba actor and producer: Ibrahim Chatta wrote: “Indeed a black Sunday. Rest in Peace, Murphy Afọlábí.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, actress Wumi Toriola wrote: “Oh My God. Murphy Afolabi is dead.”

Actress Dayo Amusa said: “We celebrated your birthday just a few days ago I am deeply sad and shocked to hear this sad news. Oku nsunkun Oku. Death is hard and cruel. I pray that his soul RIP.”
