VETERAN Nollywood Star, Murphy Afolabi, Producer and Director of Movies in Yoruba dialects died suddenly on Sunday, May 14, 2023 after a domestic accident in his bathroom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Murphy granted a special interview with BBC YORUBA sometimes in 2021, he told his fans how he started with Elebu Ibon in Osogbo where he had his primary education but dropped out of Secondary School to pursue career in Stage Acting.

He reacted to how his pronunciation in acting reflected in his local dialects. He said he had no control over the way he pronounced his words.

He was born and grew up in Isale-Osun, Osogbo, Osun State before he went to Lagos for greener pastures.

 

 

 

 

 

He said the toughest challenge he had was when he stole his father’s local ‘babanrigas’ to assist his boss in costumes for an important movie at a location where his siblings were present in Osogbo.  They later discovered that it was their fathers clothes he stole. He said father was very angry but supported his career after sometime.
