Wife of popular Ogun State pastor dies at 56

The wife of the General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Rev. Fola Achudume, has passed away.

The announcement was made by VLBC’s Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Adeoye Adeyanju, during Sunday service in Abeokuta.

Pastor Adeyanju revealed that Rev. Fola Achudume passed away early Saturday morning. “With a heavy heart, I inform VLBC members, friends, and everyone that our beloved mother, Rev. Fola Achudume, has gone to be with the Lord,” he stated. She would have turned 56 on September 6.

A statement released on the church’s Facebook page by David Lawrence-Achudume expressed the profound sadness felt by the VLBC family and its global congregation, while also expressing gratitude for her impactful life.

“With heavy hearts and gratitude to God, we announce the transition of our esteemed Lead Pastor, Rev. Fola Achudume, unto glory on Saturday, August 3, 2024,” the statement read.

Described as a teacher, prophet, pastor, mentor, role model, and mother, Rev. Achudume’s legacy is marked by her influence on countless lives, inspiring many to deepen their faith.

The VLBC family and her children worldwide honor her for her life of faith, prayer, and steadfastness. “May her soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.

The news of her passing elicited a strong reaction from Tunde Oladunjoye, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, who described it as the year’s most heartbreaking news. “It’s hard to believe and deeply saddening. My consolation is that she has joined the saints,” he said, noting his close relationship with the family as he made his way to offer his condolences.
