Wale Adenuga Productions (WAP) has revamped its iconic comedy series Papa Ajasco, introducing a fresh version titled *Papa Ajasco & Company: Gen Z Papi*. The reimagined show is set to debut on October 15, 2024.
This new iteration follows the lead character, Papa Ajasco, also known as Gen Z Papi, who embarks on a journey to stardom as an Afrobeats musician. Along the way, he becomes embroiled in a fierce rivalry with another artist, Emperor Agu, setting the stage for a comedic yet gripping storyline.
The series retains its beloved main characters, including Papa Ajasco, Pa James, Mama Ajasco, Boy Alinco, and Miss Pepeiye, while introducing a host of new supporting actors. Notable figures such as Jude Chukwuka, Jide Kosoko, Fatai Oodua (Lalude), Francis Odega, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Jaiye Kuti, Nobert Young, Shade Ayinke Ola (Iyalegba), Shirley Igwe, and Oluchi Amajuoyi will bring fresh energy to the show.

Producer Wale Adenuga Jnr. expressed excitement about the new direction, stating, “Since Papa Ajasco & Company began airing in 1997, it has garnered a loyal and diverse audience across generations. As Nigeria’s longest-running TV comedy, we continuously evolve our content to stay relevant to viewers, especially the younger demographic who dominate our audience.”
With the introduction of Gen Z Papi, WAP aims to keep the beloved comedy relevant and engaging for both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers.
