Thirty two children and adults feared dead as stampede occured at a children funfair organized by former wife of Ooni of Ife, Naomi Silekunola in Ibadan.
The stampede according to witnesses occured at the frontgate of the venue of the event,Islamic High School, Bashorun Ibadan.
The woman philanthropist who had promised to put smiles on the faces of five thousand beneficiaries assured of free gifts and funfair in celebration of the forthcoming Christmas and New Year.

Unfortunately, the venue overfilled with beneficiaries than expected early hours of the D-Day and recorded the deaths and casualties.
At one of the five hospitals where the victims were taken to, administrative officer, Patnas Specialist Hospital, Bashorun Oluwo-Kekere, Olufemi Tolulope Akinyele who confirmed that six children were received, said four were brought in dead, one of the remaining two is stable and discharged, while the last one is presently on treatment
One of the deceased’s parents, Iya Ayo regretted releasing her ward for the event.
As at the time of filing this report, the four deads at Patnas Hospital were still at the hospital.
The State public relations officer of Police, Adewale Osifeso when contacted said investigations was ongoing.
