STRANGE WORLD: Okada rider rapes passenger; explains reason for his deed [READ FULL DETAILS]

A commercial motorcyclist, who allegedly raped his female passenger said that she acted as if she needed him for the night when she asked for a place to stay.

The suspect, identified simply as Kazeem, was among the suspects paraded by the Oyo State Police Command.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, who addressed journalists on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ayodele Sonubi, disclosed that on October 17, at about 10:15 p.m., the lady, who arrived in the city from Lagos, was picked by the suspect at Olorunsogo area to be taken to her destination at Adeshina area.

“On their way, the suspect diverted to another route which the victim was not familiar with, and when she wanted to know where he was taking her to, he told her that he wanted to pick up something from his wife’s shop.

“The suspect ended up taking her to Ogbere area where his wife’s shop was located. She was forced inside where he had carnal knowledge of her without her consent,” the PPRO said.

Osifeso stated further that during interrogation, however, the suspect who admitted having sexual relationship with the lady, claimed that it was done with her consent.

The medical report showed bruises around the victim’s private part, while the police recovered a female underwear, a multi-color boxer, and a red pair of trousers as exhibits.

Kazeem said to journalists:

“That night, I was on the expressway, waiting to pick passengers when the lady approached me and said that she just arrived Ibadan from Lagos, but didn’t know the place she was going. I asked her for the area and she told me. I asked her to come along.

“As she sat on the bike, she told me that she was hungry. I gave her money to go and buy food. Thereafter, she told me to help her get a place where she could stay overnight because it was already late and she might not be able to get recognise the place she was going easily.

“From there, I took her to my wife’s shop in Olorunsogo area and slept with her.

“When my wife came after I was arrested, she could not say anything. She was just crying.”
