A tragic event occurred in Alaakia today, 20th May, 2025, as a WAEC candidate was fatally shot by a police officer.
The incident happened while the student was on his way to sit for his examination.
Reports indicate that police were in pursuit of a Hilux vehicle when they opened fire.

Unfortunately, a stray bullet struck the student, who was in his father’s car, resulting in his death. The incident has sparked outrage and calls for immediate investigation into the actions of the officers involved.
Eyewitnesses report that the police was trying to shoot a vehicle they were chasing and an innocent school student was hit by a stray bullet from the police inside his dad’s car.
The school student was rushed to Welfare Hospital, but was declared Brought in Dead(BID).
According to report, that the student along with his twin were going for an examination this morning when the incident occured.
