Not less than gallant soldiers of the Nigerian army were on Tuesday killed in fierce gun battle with Boko Haram terrorists in Gajibo, Borno state.
The Insurgents were believed to be Islamic States West African Province ISWAP a faction of Bokoharam.
“Boko Haram during the week ransacked the military base here in Gajibo, about five soldiers were killed and many injured. We saw the military evacuating their people both killed and wounded,” a resident disclosed.
Residents further confirmed that several weapons and ammunitions were carted away by the insurgents in an attack that lasted about three hours.
Insurgency, have claimed so many lives and displaced millions of North-Eastern Nigerians.
The Nigerian Army has repeatedly claimed that the insurgency has been largely defeated and frequently underplays any losses, but it’s all looking the other way round.
In recent times, soldiers have been targeted by the surgents, who lay ambush on their path.
