The cloud of blackmail in Osun PDP is not heartwarming, and the flood that could come with such a torrent must be avoided at all costs. When what used to be a peaceful home is gradually descending to a toxic abode, a mass exodus of players might be too costly to experience for a party that has a powerful opposition with federal might to contend with.

But as the months roll by, whispers of discontent should be stopped from rippling through the PDP political family—the very foundation upon which Adeleke’s reelection stands. He needs real friends, not those cloaked in feigned rob!

Within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a dangerous undercurrent has been brewing. Some members, supposedly bedroom allies of Governor Ademola Adeleke, began sowing seeds of falsehood and discord, questioning the loyalty and competence of key figures in Osun PDP.

The recent allegation targeting Hon. Oluwole Oke, a prominent figure within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, appears to be a calculated attempt to sow discord and destabilise the party ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.

These claims, particularly the suggestion that Oke might align with Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola under the All Progressives Congress (APC), are baseless and malicious. Politics can be dynamic anyway, but Oke has never sought asylum under any other party since his days in politics, a trait that can only be exemplified by just a few even under the Umbrella Party.

These actions, yes, envious blackmails, though subtle at first, have gained momentum, threatening to fracture the unity that had propelled PDP to victory. It was clear that these individuals are not just critics but enemies within—wolves in sheep’s clothing.

They have not stopped at anything to discredit prominent members of the party who have been holding the party even when the state was with the opposition. The likes of Hon. Oluwole Oke have been at the forefront of their attacks and blackmails. It may be too late when the roofs are down. I had written, and I am doing this again, to call the attention of the Governor and our party leadership to this incessant vilification of Wole Oke. There should be no controversy with grace!

The latest in their arsenal is the publication that falsely posited that Hon. Wole Oke is slated to run as Deputy with Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, on the platform of the APC come 2026. They wish him well. It is a good proposition from their pit of hell, but something should tell the emissaries of rifts that a man of Oke’s stature in politics and PDP will never abandon the home he has laboured to build with other chieftains for any reason. I just feel he is not becoming a threat to their inordinate ambitions or future political calculations.

Hon. Wole Oke has consistently demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the PDP and has played a pivotal role in strengthening the party, even during challenging times when Osun State was under opposition control. His dedication to the party’s growth and unity is evident in his years of service and contributions to its success. The suggestion that he would abandon this foundation for political expediency is both insulting and false, except that is their intention – to get him out of the party!

Despite the fact that Oke has friends across political colourations, the insinuation that Oke has close ties with Minister Oyetola is contradicted by facts; records have shown that their interactions have been limited to official oversight functions, hardly the basis for any political alliance.

Those spreading these rumours are clearly enemies within the party, intent on undermining Governor Ademola Adeleke’s reelection bid and the PDP’s cohesion.

This only gives more credence to the versatility in the brand that Oluwole Oke carries, an offering that PDP should not afford to waste!

How these purveyors of discord welled up this thought – give them out as luciferous and capable of undoing the Governor now or soon, if they are not checked. The Governor needs to come down from his tall horse and face those creating these cracks, as he is the first person at the receiving end of this stick.

I repeat, those flying this kite are enemies of Gov. Ademola within PDP, and they meant no good for him and the party. The earlier the party leadership acts, the better!

The assumption that Oyetola be pitched alongside Wole Oke to face Ademola Adeleke is a very dangerous combination! We can evidently infer that the combo has the potency to send Governor Adeleke away on election day before noon. Let us be practical and apply hindsight and foresight!

Those who came up with this proposition in their latest strategy, fanning embers of disunity within PDP, are empowering APC with processed ideas that they might want to advance.

Friends and inner Members of Gov. Adeleke’s political family spewing out these brinkmanship and falsehoods should desist forthwith. Otherwise, or invariably, they may be teaching APC how to defeat PDP come the August 2026 gubernatorial election.

The strategy of pitting Oke alongside Oyetola as a formidable opposition to Governor Adeleke is not only reckless but also a gift to the APC, effectively teaching them how to exploit internal PDP divisions to their advantage.

To us, we know their game plans; they want to use this ground to scoop money from the Governor, telling him they are working on how to nip that in the bud – their usual selling point!

Yes, the Deputy Governor is a very prestigious political office, no doubt! Oke, who we know has developed capacity and parliamentary prowess; he loves parliamentary institutions. This, his adversaries can even attest to.

Any person who wants to contest against Hon. Oluwole Oke, either for Senate or House of Representatives, should come out clean without hiding behind the Governor to fight proxy battles; instead, they should build their structures and face the business rather than discreetly stirring waters of falsehood.

Electoral contests are not executed on social media; it is not a tea party, and more so, 2026 comes before 2027. This should be our collective target!

But come to think of their silly thought. Are they also trying to wake up or encouraging Wole Oke to be in a contest with HE Gov. Adeleke within PDP? They are indeed satanic and purveyors of an illicit agenda.

What is crucial to Wole Oke now is how Osun would be retained, and he does not mince words that political strategies can be explored and deployed to advance the course of PDP in Osun State and beyond.

Summarily, the cloud of blackmail and internal sabotage within Osun PDP, exemplified by the false allegations against Hon. Wole Oke and others, poses a serious threat to the party’s stability and electoral prospects.

Addressing these internal conflicts decisively is crucial to avoid a political flood that could jeopardise the PDP’s future and sweep away the fortunes currently being enjoyed by all in Osun State.
