  • Growing Experience

As you grow older, your experience grows because you become good at using what you’ve learned over the years. It’s not called the golden years for anything. This is called crystallized intelligence, it keeps improving even at 65 or 70.

  • More Agreeable

You’ll likely become more agreeable as you age, at least into your 60s, and not be a grumpy old man or woman. You’re also likely to be happier and less inclined to get angry. Researchers have not been able to figure out why this happens. However, there are some theories that older people can control their emotions better, and focus more on how to make the most of life.

  • Better Mood

The ability to play well with others improves with age. You’re more in tune with other people’s emotions in your 40s than in any other lifetime. Hence knowledge about how others think, live, and feel can make life with your loved ones easier. Besides it puts you in a better mood and helps you get along well with your coworkers.

  • Sex Satisfaction

Quality rather than quantity is the watchword here because older women may have sex less often than when they were younger. However, when they have sex, they make it worth it. In a study of women 40 and over, researchers found that sexual satisfaction improved with age. Women over 80 were more likely than those between 55 and 79 to say they were satisfied during sex.

  • Taste Changes

As you grow older, medications, illnesses (colds, flu, gum diseases, etc.), and allergies can alter your sense of taste and smell. And these can affect what you eat and consequently your health. So if you decide to spice things up to improve your tastes, try olive oil, herbs like rosemary, and thyme, garlic, onion, peppers, or mustard. Stay away from the salt.

  • Hair In Weird Places
     
    When you start experiencing hair loss on your head due to aging, the irony is that they start showing in weird places. This can mean large hairs in older men’s noses and ears. Older women may notice small hairs on their chins or upper lip. This is all caused by changes in our hormones.

 

  • Good Sleep

Don’t be surprised that your sleeping pattern changes as you grow older. For instance, there’s the chance that you’ll become the morning person you desire to be in your 60s. Your sleeping patterns may shift as you age. So you get to sleep early and wake up early. That seems to work out perfectly. A study showed that even though folks over 65 tend to wake up during the night, most regularly get a good night’s sleep.

  • No More Migraines

Thankfully those migraines you may have had much of your life may go away once you are in your 70s. Only 10% of women and 5% of men over 70 still report migraines. Even better is the news that if you do have a migraine, it may not come with the headache.

    Retiring early is not the best for your health unless you have a lucrative fun second career. A research finding suggests that people who work hard at a job they enjoy live the longest. That, alongside good friends and a good marriage, could be the key to sticking around for a while.
  • Self-Confidence Boost

Studies show that self-esteem rises as you age and increases with wealth, education, good health, and employment. But it plummets after 60. That may be because you start having health issues and searching for a new sense of purpose following retirement. With increasing life spans, healthier lifestyles, and working to an older age, self-confidence may be preserved.

  • Inch Shorter
     
    The longer you’re alive, the more gravity brings you down. The spaces between the bones in your spine called vertebrae get closer together. That can make you about an inch shorter as you get older. However, you can still maintain a straight posture through exercise and proper sitting positions.
