New Brighton signing Billy Gilmour says it was a “no-brainer” to swap Chelsea for Brighton.
Albion have signed the 21-year-old on a four year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of £9million.
The Scottish international could make his Seagulls debut on Sunday when Graham Potter’s men take on Leicester City at the Amex.
Now he has spoken about swapping the London outfit for the Sussex side. The youngster has also explained why he has linked up with Graham Potter’s team.

“It took a long time, so it did. It was a lot of back and forth between Chelsea and Brighton, but I got the news today that I can come here and try and get contracts agreed, so it has been a busy day, a long day, but an enjoyable one and I can’t wait to get started,” he told My Albion TV.
ON LEAVING CHELSEA, HE ADDED:
“Of course, it was a tough decision but I wanted to play football, that’s the main aim for me, to come in and enjoy my football, get regular game time. It was a bit of a no-brainer.”
Gilmour was with Celtic for just a few short months before moving to Rangers in 2009. He spent eight years with the Scottish outfit before joining Chelsea at the age of 16 in July 2017.
