The director-general of the State Security Service, Yusuf Bichi, has resigned.
Bichi reportedly submitted his resignation letter on Monday.
He was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on September 14, 2018, to replace Matthew Seiyefa, who had served in an acting capacity.

His resignation follows that of Ahmed Abubakar, the Director General of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), who also resigned by submitting his letter to President Bola Tinubu during a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Saturday.
President Bola has since approved the appointment of Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed as the new Director-General of the NIA and Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Director-General of the DSS.
