21- year-old girl stabs boyfriend to death (READ DETAILS)

A 21-year-old girl, Precious Anegbode has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for allegedly stabbing to death one Damilola, said to be her boyfriend, in the Ijegun area of Lagos.

The suspect, it was gathered visited the deceased last Friday where a fierce argument ensued.

The argument was said to have degenerated into an altercation.

A resident who condition of anonymity, said neighbours heard a sustained noisy argument between the two after which Anegbode reached for a knife and stabbed Damilola in the process.

“We don’t know what led to the quarrel between both of them. We only heard them shouting and the next thing we heard the lady was wailing. When we got to their room, we saw the lifeless body of her boyfriend on the floor,” the source disclosed.

Another resident, who also preferred anonymity, said the neighbours of the deceased immediately took the deceased to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

“Some of the neighbours took the corpse to the hospital while others prevented the lady from running away. When they got to the hospital, the doctors on duty confirmed him dead. Then we later went to the police station to report the incident, and returned with some officers who came to take the lady away,” the resident added.

When contacted, the command spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.

According to him, the incident was reported to the police the same day at about 11:30 am.

He said,

“The victim was rushed to Igando General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival. The nearest police station, Igando Division, was contacted, and the suspect was arrested”
