Tottenham have agreed a £25million deal for their third summer sign

The north London club were interested in signing the 25-year-old in January and have revived their interest.

He has 12 months left on his current deal at Brighton. Spurs has been agreed, with the Seagulls willing to cash in now rather than lose him on a free transfer when his contract expires.

It is also understood Tottenham do not expect personal terms to be an issue with the midfielder, who was previously a target for Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Tottenham finishing fourth and getting Champions League football will no doubt have helped their pursuit.

Conte has made a strong start to the summer transfer window.

“When my time will come, it’s my time, but I’m happy in Brighton, I’m enjoying playing football.

“My dream is like every player, I want to play in the Champions League, I want to be champions. I want to compare myself on the top level, not just with other players.”

Richarlison could be another addition for Spurs

Conte reportedly wants another four signings, including two defenders, a creative midfielder and a forward.

Deals for Everton’s Brazilian star Richarlison and Christian Eriksen – a free agent after his short-term Brentford contract ended – have already been mooted.
