15 Students Goes Missing on Their Way to Write Rescheduled JAMB Exam in Imo State

A deeply troubling situation has emerged as 15 students who were on their way to write their rescheduled JAMB exam have reportedly gone missing. The students, who traveled from Onitsha to their exam center in Okigwe, Imo State, have not been seen or heard from since their departure.

The incident came to light after it was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), causing widespread alarm. According to details posted by social media influencer @UchePOkoye, the students boarded a chartered bus around 6:30 a.m. but never made it back, and all efforts to contact them have failed.

A message from a concerned peer read:

“Good evening, sir, my classmates that their JAMB got rescheduled and they had papers yesterday by 6:30 a.m. at Okigwe, Imo State have been missing. 15 of them, none of their numbers is reachable, including our school director, they left from Onitsha.”

In response, @UchePOkoye posted:

“15 school kids entered a chartered bus from Onitsha yesterday to Okigwe, Imo State to write their rescheduled JAMB and have been missing since yesterday. The school children, the school owner, his wife, the driver — all unreachable. @JAMBHQ you will never go scot-free!”

Meanwhile,The Imo State Police Command has debunked reports of 15 missing students who reportedly traveled from Onitsha, Anambra State, to Okigwe, Imo State, for the rescheduled 2025 UTME.

But in a terse rebuttal shared with newsmen, the spokesperson of the command, Henry Okoye, said the students only encountered delays while on transit.

But As of now, there has been no official update from the authorities or from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The incident has sparked serious concerns from the public, with many demanding immediate investigation and action to ensure the students’ safety.
